SHIMLA, APRIL 21 — The Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Borivali has remanded four key accused, including MBA students Anand Patel, Subh Agarwal, and Vineet Gerelani, as well as their suspected drug supplier Ayush Sahitya, to police custody till April 23. This move comes in the aftermath of a tragic incident where two students from the same institution died from overdosing on Ecstasy pills allegedly supplied by Sahitya at a music concert on April 11 at the Nesco Exhibition Centre in Goregaon East. As the investigation unfolds, it is becoming increasingly clear that this case is merely the tip of the iceberg, with a larger drug syndicate lurking in the shadows. The police, led by the Vanrai police station, are now hot on the trail of establishing links between the college students and the suppliers, and their probe has already revealed that Ayush was in touch with a key figure involved in the supply of drugs, who has been absconding since the case was registered.
The music concert on April 11, which was attended by the MBA students, including the two who lost their lives, has emerged as a crucial incident that led to the arrests. The police are working tirelessly to piece together the events of that fateful night and the preceding days to understand the flow of drugs and money. Their investigation has uncovered a complex web of financial transactions, with Subh, Ayush, and Vineet transferring funds derived from the sale of narcotics into the bank account of the absconding drug supplier’s wife. Furthermore, Vineet had also transferred money into the bank account of Ayush’s sister during the event. A meticulous analysis of the bank account statements of the accused has revealed substantial financial transactions between the three peddlers and Ayush during the 10-day period preceding the crime.
The investigating officer from Vanrai police station told the court that the police need to establish links between the college students and the syndicate from where they acquired the drugs. The officer emphasized that Ayush’s interrogation is crucial in leading them to the kingpin, who is still at large. The police are confident that Ayush’s questioning will provide vital information about the larger drug syndicate, helping them apprehend the main accused. The officer also stressed the need to verify the information, obtain details of the account, and trace and apprehend the accused. Meanwhile, six other accused, who were arrested after the two MBA students from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies died, have been remanded in judicial custody, with three of them being MBA students.

Arrests and Custody
As this case continues to unfold, its implications are becoming increasingly far-reaching, with the police now focusing on cracking down on the larger drug syndicate. The fact that the accused were able to acquire drugs and sell them to other students raises serious concerns about the need for stricter laws and enforcement. The police are working to identify other students who may have been involved in the sale and consumption of drugs, and the case has also raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students, particularly in the context of music concerts and other events where drugs may be readily available. The police are determined to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future and that those responsible are brought to justice.

Unfolding Investigation
The investigation is still ongoing, and the police are likely to make more arrests and gather more evidence. The case will now be heard again on April 23, when the police custody of the four accused ends. The police will have to provide evidence to the court to justify the extension of police custody, or the accused will be remanded in judicial custody. The outcome of this case will have significant implications for the war on drugs in the city, and the police are determined to nab the kingpin and dismantle the drug syndicate. As the investigation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen what other developments will emerge, and how the case will ultimately unfold.
